Ellie Mitchell (Eagle Clan) is Anishinaabe, an enrolled member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan and is the owner of Bead & Powwow Supply.
Ellie is an alumna of the Saginaw Chippewa Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics, from Michigan State University. As an undergraduate, she was awarded a Morris K Udall Scholarship in recognition of her work on Anishinaabemowin revitilization. Unable to find culutrally meaningful employment following her graduation, Ellie founded Bead & Powwow Supply in late 2011, and debuted her powwow stand to the powwow trail in 2012.
Ellie strives to offer customers a positive and Indigenized shopping experience at powwowsupply.com. She is proud to offer flexible and culturally meaningful employment on the Isabella Indian Reservation. She believes that Indigenous entrepreneurship is part of a healthier future for Indian Country.
